Currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff whose center of record or address are outside of Manchester, NH, may request books, audiobooks, and DVDs from the Shapiro Library circulating collection by mail via the "Request" feature within the Library catalog.
The Library pays the outgoing postage for material, and the borrower is responsible for return postage. Items will be mailed via USPS Priority Mail to US addresses and will generally arrive within 1-3 business days. The borrower is responsible for all items from the moment they are mailed from Shapiro Library until the moment they are received back at Shapiro Library. This responsibility includes the physical condition of items and any replacement or processing costs that may be incurred. The Library will include a pre-addressed Library Mail return label in the package for the borrower’s convenience. The Library highly recommends adding USPS Tracking to packages or using a parcel delivery service (FedEx, UPS, etc.) for returns.
All items will be checked out for a three (3) week period. Borrowers may renew items online if other borrowers have not placed holds on those items. Borrowers may check their records and request renewals by logging in to the "Your Library Account" feature in the library catalog using their mySNHU user name and mySNHU password.
Items that are returned to the Library more than three (3) weeks after the due date will be subject to both per-item replacement charge(s) (of at least $100/item) and a non-refundable processing fee of $15.00 per item. The returning postmark date will be accepted as the return date when considering whether an item is overdue. Material postmarked after the due date will incur fines if received more than three weeks past the due date. It is highly suggested that borrowers renew their items shortly before mailing them for return. Not all parcel delivery services use postmark dates—if there is no postmark date, the date received will be used as the check-in date. Overseas returns must use the same package delivery service vendor with whom the items were shipped from Shapiro Library.
