Campus Remote Orientation Guide

Here you can find all you need to know about what returning to SNHU will look like in a virtual environment

Class Schedule

Will my schedule change?

Though the location of your course has changed from the classroom to wherever you attend virtually, the professor and course times will remain on your schedule. If your course was scheduled Mondays and Fridays from 11am-12:15pm, you’ll still see these times listed and should hold this time open for class. If your instructor has an interactive lesson planned, it will be held during this time.

What will my classes look like – in-person or all asynchronous?

Your coursework this fall will likely be a mix of some asynchronous learning and some logging on at your class time for a live, virtual experience. Faculty have been busy this summer planning a robust remote academic experience for the fall. While each instructor will communicate their class plan via their syllabus in Brightspace, instructors are being encouraged to consider a blend of learning opportunities. This could include class discussions, group work, and other active engagements.

Can I take more Global Campus online classes?

Yes! During this semester of virtual learning, we are allowing students to take advantage of our courses through our large ‘global campus’ of online courses (8-week for undergraduate classes, 10-week for graduate classes). You need a minimum of 6 credits of classes in the campus terms (20FADAY/20DY01/20DY02) so that you can maintain your financial aid, but then you can add courses in the fall online terms (20EW1 and 20EW2 for undergraduate, 20TW1 for graduate - no more than two courses per term). For assistance with registration or questions, please contact our Academic Advising team at academicadvising@snhu.edu or 603-645-9630.

How will my professors be available to me?

Your instructors will be available during virtual office hours – as well as via Brightspace, email, and whatever contact methods your professor shares. Each instructor will share the best way to contact them in their Brightspace course and/or on their syllabus. Though we are not physically together, your professor is still available to assist you as you progress through the semester.

Will I still have lab classes?

Yes. Just as your instructors have been working all summer to find ways to deliver your course content virtually, your labs will also be offered in a virtual format. While obviously a remote lab experience will be different than the face-to-face experience, instructors are finding some creative ways to continue to have more “hands-on” learning even while labs are offered remotely.

Grading

Is pass/fail an option this semester?

While the pass/fail grading option was utilized in the spring for undergraduate students to offset the upheaval, we will not be offering pass/fail grading options for the fall semester.
