This Library Research Guide will provide you with information that you can use to critically evaluate sources including websites, articles and reports, books and ebooks, etc.

Website Evaluation Tutorial

This tutorial is intended to help you learn how to evaluate websites (and other sources of information) by examining the criteria necessary to evaluate sources and practicing evaluating websites.

First, examine these two pages for information about evaluating websites and other sources:

Evaluate the following websites using the criteria from the Evaluating Sources Using C.R.A.A.P.O. and What About Websites?pages. Check out the Source Evaluation Rubric for a step-by-step evaluation tool.

Ask yourself: Would I use this website in an academic paper or project?

Note: Each of these sites is returned in the first page of a Google search on "Global Warming" -- notice the range of site types and quality.
