LGBTQ is an acronym for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer or questioning. The graphic below from Statista shows that the percentage of the U.S. population that identifies as LGBT increased from 2012-2017. The resources below and on the subsequent pages provide information about the LGBT community, issues that they face, and how to be an ally.

This statistic shows the share of adults in the United States who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender from 2012 to 2017. In 2012, 3.5 percent of adults surveyed stated they identify as LGBT, while in 2017, 4.5 percent of respondents said the same.
