Poster Design

This guide is intended to help SNHU students use basic design principles to creating professional, academic posters. This guide also provides poster templates and instructions for printing posters at the Innovation Lab & Makerspace.

HP Designjet Z6200 Large Format Printer

The Innovation Lab & Makerspace is pleased to offer an HP Designjet Z6200 large format printer for use by currently enrolled SNHU students, faculty, and staff for individual printing needs. Basic specs and information on the equipment are as follows:

  • Prints posters up to 41" on the smallest dimension
  • 8 inks
  • 1225 ft2/hr (113.6 m2/hr) print speed

To request that something be printed on the large format printer, please fill out the Poster Request Form.

Key Policies

  • Currently enrolled SNHU students, faculty, and staff should fill out the form located here to request something be printed on the HP Designjet Z6200 large format printer. Please note that in most cases, library staff need at least 1 week's notice before something can be printed on the large format printer.
  • Department printing jobs should generally be sent to Copies Plus (located in the Student Center). However during the summer, we will consider department printing requests on a case-by-case basis and will charge at the rate set by Copies Plus for department printing.
  • Additional Innovation Lab & Makerspace rules and policies apply.

Large Format Printer Costs

HP Premium Instant-Dry Satin Photo Paper (most frequently used for posters)

  • $1.50 per square foot

HP Premium Instant-Dry Glossy Photo Paper

  • $3.00 per square foot

Fees for using the large format printer may be applied directly to users' Colleague accounts OR taken from users' Penmen Print allotment and are subject to change at any time. Large format printer fees applied directly to users' Colleague accounts are due 30 days after the fee is applied and can be paid by contacting or visiting Campus Student Financial Services.
