Pride Month: Home

Celebrate and honor Pride with the Shapiro Library!

Pride Month is an annual celebration of the many contributions made by the LGBTQ+ community to history, society, and cultures worldwide. Pride is celebrated throughout June each year in commemoration of its roots in the Stonewall uprising of 1969. The first Pride march in New York City was held on June 28, 1970, on the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising.

Below, we've curated a list of print, audio, and eBook resources that explore and highlight the many cultural and literary contributions of members of the LGTBQIA+. The Shapiro Library also provides access to a variety of other resources including movies on streaming platforms such as Kanopy This link opens in a new window, Swank This link opens in a new window, and more! And, remember, print materials can be shipped to off-campus users anytime via our Off-Campus Library & Interlibrary Loan Service!
