International Labour Organization (ILO) - Employment Protection Legislation Database (EPLex)

Useful for: Management and Logistics Considerations, Legal and Regulatory Profile

The International Labour Organization (ILO) is a United Nations agency whose mandate is to advance social and economic justice through setting international labor standards. Its EPLex database has been developed by ILO lawyers and economists to bring together, in a comparative manner, national provisions on employment protection.

In the "Browse by country" section of the database, you can then use the map or scroll down to the alphabetical country list to navigate to your country's profile page (Note that the Republic of Korea is listed under Korea, Republic of). You will then see a list of nine employment protection topic areas. These can be expanded by clicking on the "+" button to the right of the topic name. Highlighted elements of each topic area will appear in purple and relevant laws will be cited.
