Locating Information
In this section you will:
- Identify tools used for gathering information: Internet (websites), Library resources
- Databases
- Books
- Reference Materials (dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc.)
- Periodicals (Magazines, Newspapers, Journals, etc.)
- Define credible, diverse, and appropriate sources of information
- Use and access library databases along with credible internet sources
- Understand the uses for each type of resource and what is appropriate for the kind of research you are doing
- Explain the qualities of a credible and reliable sources of information
- Describe the use of citations when using outside information
- Describe issues of access or lack of access to information sources
- As a student you may have access to information that others do not have access to, versus public information (e.g., things through Google) that everyone can access.
- Identify the different types of information available
