A Roadmap to Available Resources

Exploring Library Databases

You're prepared, now it's time to dive into the library's resources! From any library page, expand the "Find Articles, eBooks, & More" option in the main menu. Select the A-Z Database option. From the home page, you may be tempted to use the Multi-Search search bar. It's easy to find and very convenient. The Multi-search tool searches many, though not all, of our resources in one search. It is often very helpful but does have some limitations. If you're looking for something specific, the A-Z Database is often a better place to start. The A-Z Database list is the full list of library resources. Databases will include sources. These collections may be organized around a discipline or a type of source. Use the drop-down lists on the A-Z Database page to limit the large list of databases. See databases that include sources in your discipline, the information type you're looking for, or both.

Look for Best Bet databases at the top of the list to see databases librarians think will work best for you. Read database titles and descriptions to get a sense of if the collection will support your research.

In the video below, Brian demonstrates how to find and use the A-Z Database list. He doesn't highlight the source type menu, but you'll see it in the video.
