Accessibility at the Shapiro Library
Disability and Accessibility Statement
The Shapiro Library at Southern New Hampshire University is committed to providing all SNHU students, faculty, and staff equitable access to the library resources and services they require for academic and research needs.
Accessibility FAQs
Librarians have compiled frequently asked questions about resources, technology, and tips and tricks regarding accessibility. Please review the tips and tricks available on the pages listed below for help for using the library:
Shapiro Library Research Support
For research support assistance, contact the Library 24/7 chat or email ask@snhu.libanswers.com. Research Support staff can assist with the research process, learning to utilize Library resources and field general citation questions. When reaching out, it might be helpful for staff to know if there is a print-related disability and/or if you are using assistive/adaptive technology. This information is optional and confidential but will allow staff to give specific directions or recommendations of resources and how they can be made accessible.
You can access 24/7 Library Chat by clicking on the “24/7 Library Chat” image at the top of any page header. It is staffed by a combination of SNHU Research Support students, who are trained to provide library research support to the SNHU community, and qualified non-SNHU staff. If you are using the 24/7 Library Chat service between the hours of 10 pm and 12 pm (noon) Eastern Standard Time, you will be chatting with a librarian from another academic institution, sometimes even in the United Kingdom, or from a national 24/7 cooperative reference service. SNHU librarians may follow up on those chats with additional information after your chat with a non-SNHU librarian.
