Library Data Dashboard

Resource Usage

This section summarizes sign-ins to library e-resources using OpenAthens. OpenAthens was implemented on August 26, 2024, so FY25 figures reflect activity from that date forward. An authentication represents a successful login that grants a user access to licensed content hosted by vendors and platforms.

Use the pages below to explore total activity and how usage varies by audience, program, and location. Each page includes short notes that explain what is counted and how to interpret the figures.

About these measures

The data on the following pages comes from OpenAthens, which has been the library’s authentication system since August 26, 2024. Each count represents a successful login that passes a user through to licensed content. A single authentication reflects the start of a user session, not every click or action taken once logged in. If someone accesses more than one resource during the same authenticated session, it is still counted only once.

Counts by user type and program are based on affiliations passed to OpenAthens at the time of login, which means numbers reflect how accounts were categorized in the university’s systems at that moment. Country counts are inferred from the network location of the login, though VPNs, proxies, or travel can affect results.

Notes for Readers

  • Data are aggregated and contain no personally identifiable information.
